Bishop Burns Spends Time on Campus
Bishop Burns took time out of his busy schedule today to visit Bishop Dunne. Advised by Cardinal Farrell that this was his favorite school, Bishop Burns was eager to visit the students of such a mission driven school and was impressed by their achievement. Click here to read more.

2017 Final Exam Schedule

Seniors' final exams will begin Tuesday, May 16, 2017, and will be given by subject. The full schedule can be viewed here.

Underclassmen finals are all conducted in the classroom with the teacher of record. Each day two final exams will be administered followed by two 40 minute review sessions for the next day's exams. Click here for the schedule and more information.

Junior Corey Dial, Finalist in Photo Competition
Last fall, junior Corey Dial entered one of his works in the 2017 Photographer's Forum: Magazine for the Emerging Professional College & High School Photography Contest. In March, the judges announced the Honorable Mentions, Finalists, and Winners from among 13,000 entries nationwide. Corey's image was chosen as a Finalist. Click here to view the image and read more. Photography 1 and 2 Students Visit Arboretum
Mrs. Gloria Nieto's Photography 1 and 2 classes traveled on Friday, April 28, 2017, to the Dallas Arboretum. Students applied the skills and knowledge they have gained throughout the semester to capture new images. Students concentrated their skills in macro and portrait photography. Track Wins Regional Meet, Qualifies Fifteen for State
​The Bishop Dunne track and field team competed in the TAPPS Regional meet on Tuesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Liberty Christian School and Burleson High School respectively. The men's team won the event by scoring a total of 156 points, nineteen points more than the second place team. Fifteen Falcons will travel to Waco, Texas, May 5 and 6, 2017, to compete at the TAPPS State meet. Click here to read more here.

 

Justus Clarke Performs Eloquently in Sobering Production of "The Face Of Emmett Till"
Justus Clarke, a sophomore at Bishop Dunne and published poet, took on a challenge that few people could competently accomplish. The Face of Emmett Till tells the true story of a young black boy senselessly murdered in Mississippi. Click here to read the full story.

 

Homeless for a Night at Bishop Dunne
On Friday, April 28, 2017, more than 30 students gathered on the football field at 9:30 p.m. for Homeless for a Night. Sixth Grader Takes Lead in Play

Mrs. Culton Named Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Mrs. Erica Culton who was celebrated on Tuesday night by the Diocese as the Bishop Dunne teacher of the year. Mrs. Culton was nominated for her care and concern for students and their social and emotional well-being. Click here to read more.

 

The Falcons Represent Well at State Tournament
The Bishop Dunne softball team traveled to Katy, Texas, for the first round of the 2017 TAPPS softball playoffs on May 2, marking their third straight playoff appearance. Although the Lady Falcons played flawless defense against a very talented St. John XXIII team, it was not enough to advance the team to the second round. Click here to read more.

Congratulations to faculty member Elisa Huacuja and her husband, Manuel, on the birth of their son, Rafael David, who was born April 29, 2017. Rafael weighed 8 lbs. 13 oz. and was 21 inches long.

 

Pass, Set, Hit!
Tryouts for the Lady Falcon 2017-2018 high school volleyball team will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017, and Tuesday, May 16, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Open gym is Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to assist with tryout preparation. Open gym is open to both middle school and high school. You must have a current physical to tryout or participate in open gym. Support Bishop Dunne Art
Please join us this Saturday, May 6, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. through 5:00 p.m. at CiboDivino at Sylvan | Thirty, for an art show displaying our ceramic students work inspired by Pablo Picasso. Safe Environment Program News
There will be a Safe Environment Family of Faith training class on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. in room 310 for new volunteers. Interviews will begin at 4:30 p.m. To register for the class and interview, please click here. Prior to attending class, please complete the screening by clicking here.​

There will also be an Update training class on Thursday, May, 11, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. for individuals who have been previously cleared through the Diocese of Dallas and need update training. Please register for the class by clicking here.

Photos for the volunteer identification badge will be taken prior to class. All volunteers must be Safe Environment cleared before receiving a volunteer badge.

Volunteer Program News
Volunteer hours accumulated to date as a community are 3,811. We are at 33% of family volunteers for the year.

It's not too late to earn 10 volunteer hours by donating the following supply package in its entirety.

2 - Lysol disinfectant spray
2 - Desk staplers

Donations may be dropped off at the front office for Mrs. Echavarria. Please be sure to sign the volunteer log to receive credit for your hours. Your generosity is appreciated.​
