SCHOOL NEWS

Bishop Dunne Announces New Middle School Director
We say a sad farewell to Mr. Jeremy Ratliff who has been our middle school director for many years. Mr. Ratliff joined us as an algebra teacher but quickly made his mark on the middle school, helping to establish the sixth grade and working hard on developing the seven-year advantage of middle school students with the availability of high school courses and college preparation. You can read more here.

The 2016-2017 Rugged Literary Magazine
The 2016-2017 issue of Rugged, the Bishop Dunne literary arts magazine, is now live on the website. Several talented seniors submitted original works of poetry, and sophomore Sean Jurek produced an alternative history of WWI and WWII. Many of our exceptional photography and visual arts students offered their beautiful creations. Click here to read more.

Sixth Grade Ends Year With Class Retreat
The sixth grade class ended their first year as Bishop Dunne students on a class retreat. The theme of the retreat was "Service." Their day was spent serving the community and growing together as a class. Click here to read the full story.

Exciting Times for the Bishop Dunne Sixth Grade and Intermediate Bands
The middle school bands at Bishop Dunne have had a very exciting and very busy end of the year. Not only could middle school band students be found performing with the marching band at pep rallies, the jazz band at the Sounds of Bishop Dunne Concert, and filling in with the advanced band on their trip to the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, the ensembles comprised entirely of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students had their fair share of activity.
