Our Falcon Community

Bishop Dunne Catholic School is a Catholic college-preparatory community for grades 6–12 that empowers each student to explore, inquire, lead, and serve through a faith-filled education in Oak Cliff.
In a diverse, joyful environment grounded in the charisms of the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur and the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, students are challenged by a rigorous curriculum, supported by dedicated teachers and learning resources, and formed to think critically through a Catholic worldview that honors the dignity of every person. From innovative STEM and arts to leadership, service, and campus ministry, Bishop Dunne helps students discover their God-given gifts and graduate as confident, compassionate young adults prepared to succeed in college, career, and life—and to make a difference in the world.
Families want a school that looks like the real world, not a bubble. At Bishop Dunne, authentic diversity—racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural—is woven into everyday life, so students learn side by side with peers from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives, preparing them to lead and collaborate in a global society. In this truly mixed community, conversations are richer, empathy grows, and students learn to navigate differences with respect and confidence—something harder to find in more homogenous environments.
With just over 270 students in the high school, Bishop Dunne is big enough to offer robust academics, arts, and athletics, yet small enough to feel like family. The scale means teachers know each student by name, parents feel connected, and teenagers have more chances to step up—earning starting roles on teams, landing meaningful parts on stage, and taking on leadership positions that might be out of reach at much larger schools. Instead of getting lost in the crowd, students are seen, supported, and stretched—enjoying the advantages of a close-knit community while still accessing high-quality programs and opportunities that position them strongly for college and beyond.
