Welcome from the President

Welcome!

I hope you enjoy exploring our website where you will learn more about the programs, culture, and Catholic identity that fills the halls here at Bishop Dunne. Please plan to visit our campus. We are so proud of our students and faculty and would enjoy showing you all Bishop Dunne has to offer.

Bishop Dunne is a unique Catholic school in Dallas. We are the only Catholic school offering the 7-Year Advantage. Students can begin their Bishop Dunne career at any time from 6th grade through 12th grade. Our students consistently excel in academics. Students enroll in Honors classes beginning in middle school, and in high school, can add Advanced Placement courses and earn college credit in dual-enrollment classes. Bishop Dunne students are challenged and nurtured throughout their years by extraordinary faculty and staff who support students so they are able to reach their potential.

Unique to Bishop Dunne is the Collegiate Institute. The Collegiate Institute at Bishop Dunne Catholic School works in conjunction Dallas College to provide qualified applicants a unique academic experience. The Collegiate Institute is designed to satisfy credit requirements for high school graduation while the student also earns an Associate Degree of Science from Dallas College, at no additional cost. The AP Capstone courses also offer students unique opportunities to explore their interests and earn college credits.

The Bishop Dunne experience extends beyond the classroom. Our students thrive on the stage, athletic fields, labs, and in their callings to be followers of Christ. Our students seek out these opportunities both at school and off-campus. Students learn about social justice throughout their years at Bishop Dunne, and particularly as they participate in service programs through their theology classes and advisories, with opportunities to serve the needs of various Dallas communities, and discovering new outreach opportunities that make our community and world a better place.

We welcome you to visit our campus. Once you arrive, you will immediately feel a strong sense of family amongst our diverse student population. Our students are embracing of each individuals’ unique beliefs and gifts. Every day our students work, live, and understand our Catholic faith. The halls and classrooms of Bishop Dunne are filled with inquiry and discovery. You will observe students and faculty working together to solve complex problems in our state-of-the-art science facilities. You will also see how students are developing critical thinking and analytical skills that make them sought after by the more than 100 colleges and universities that visit our campus each year. At graduation, Bishop Dunne students are prepared to excel due to the preparation and support they received.

Bishop Dunne is a special place where our students and distinguished faculty have gathered together in a joyful community of faith for over 60 years. Come see for yourself all that Bishop Dunne has to offer!
