Bishop Dunne offers beginning band classes for grades 6, 7, and 8, and welcomes beginners at the high school as well!

For the beginning middle school bands, they perform at 2-3 concerts per year and participate in The Pride of Texas music festivals each year, consistently earning superior ratings for beginning bands!  

Our experienced 7^th and 8^th grade musicians come together to form a more active ensemble, performing at a football game, additional competitions and concerts, and more! Musicians from this group regularly are accepted to All-Region and travel to competitions around the state every two years. This ensemble has been selected as 'Best In Class' at numerous competitions over the years!

This is our top performing ensemble, composed of high school students who have had at least one year of experience. The advanced band has earned many Superior Ratings, 'Best In Class,' 'Best Band In Competition,' and was selected to perform at the 2024 National Band and Orchestra Festival at Carnegie Hall. 

The Marching Band and Drumline are the busiest and most well-known ensembles at our school. They perform at football games, pep rallies, parades, contests, community events, and more! These ensembles are open to students as early as seventh grade and meets before school two to three times a week.

The Jazz Band is one of the audience's favorite ensembles, playing many genres of music across many decades. They've performed on the streets of New Orleans, concert halls, and more, and have brought home many awards and Superior Ratings. The Jazz Band is open to students of all grades and meets before school two to three days a week once marching contests conclude.
