Bishop Dunne recognizes the importance of equipping and inspiring students for leadership in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. A dedicated STEM focus—supported by maker-space style labs, drones and robotics, and inquiry-based learning—gives students hands-on opportunities to design, build, test, and iterate as they solve real problems. Through these experiences, students grow as creative problem-solvers who can collaborate, communicate, and think critically in a global, tech-driven world.

STEM is supported by a robust technology ecosystem. Bishop Dunne is a BYOT (Bring Your Own Technology) campus where a laptop is required, and students access e-books, online learning tools, and interactive resources every day. The Technology Department emphasizes the ethical, responsible use of devices and the internet, so students learn digital citizenship alongside coding, research, and collaboration skills. A secure, stable network and clear policies ensure that technology remains a powerful tool for inquiry, creativity, and connection.

Robotics and Engineering are a flagship part of Bishop Dunne’s STEM identity. Through combined Robotics and Engineering activities and clubs, students apply math and science principles to design and build robots that complete specific tasks and compete in robotics competitions. They progress from simple mechanisms to more complex platforms with sensors and automation, learning the engineering design process step by step. Guest speakers, real-world projects, and service to the school community (helping with builds and design tasks) give students a clear window into engineering careers and the impact of innovation.​
