Tuition & Financial Aid
Bishop Dunne Catholic School makes a Catholic, college-preparatory education accessible through a clear tuition structure and one of the most robust need-based assistance programs in the Diocese of Dallas. Families are invited to see tuition as an investment that is intentionally priced below the actual cost of education and supported by generous financial aid and community giving.
Tuition At A Glance
Tuition and fees are published annually so families can plan with confidence. For the current year, the total cost of tuition and standard fees is structured by division:
Middle school (grades 6–8): $14,200
High school (grades 9–12): $18,000
Typical annual fees include:
Technology fee
E-book fee (covers all required books)
Registration fee
Juniors and seniors also pay retreat and graduation fees, and there are separate costs for AP exams, lunch, uniforms, and a family-provided laptop. Tuition and fee schedules for the upcoming school year are usually released in January so families can budget early.
Why Tuition Assistance Exists
At Bishop Dunne, tuition is set below the actual per-student cost, and a significant portion of our budget is covered by donors who believe in keeping a Bishop Dunne education within reach for working families. Our tuition assistance program is designed specifically to bridge the gap between what a family can afford and the full cost of educating a student. Bishop Dunne’s tuition assistance program exists to ensure that qualified students are not turned away solely because they cannot afford full tuition. In partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Dallas, the school awards need-based grants, on a funds-available basis, up to a maximum of 70% of tuition cost.
Key principles of the program:
-
Assistance is need-based, not merit-based, and is evaluated confidentially.
-
Awards may combine diocesan funds and Bishop Dunne funds, based on criteria established by the Diocese of Dallas.
-
Tuition revenue covers only part of the actual cost to educate a student; philanthropy and the Falcon Fund help close the gap so assistance can remain strong.
When families apply, the school partners with them to arrive at a realistic tuition amount that fits their financial situation while sustaining the quality of the Bishop Dunne experience.
How Tuition Assistance Works
Bishop Dunne uses FACTS as the official, secure system to gather financial information and calculate demonstrated need. When a family submits a complete financial aid application through FACTS, it is automatically shared with the Catholic Diocese of Dallas for possible diocesan support in addition to Bishop Dunne aid.
Steps to apply:
-
Submit the Bishop Dunne admission application. Families are encouraged to begin the financial aid application at the same time; you do not need to wait for an admission decision.
-
Complete the FACTS Grant & Aid application online, including required tax and income documents sent directly to FACTS.
-
FACTS analyzes your information and provides a need assessment that Bishop Dunne and the Diocese use to determine your award, subject to available funds.
-
Receive your tuition assistance decision and finalize an enrollment contract and payment plan with the Business Office.
Families who do not submit a FACTS application may have an estimated income calculated, but full access to need-based awards depends on a completed application.
Payment Options That Fit Your Budget
Once tuition and any assistance awards are finalized, families can choose from several payment options to fit their cash flow.
Common options include:
-
Pay in full by mid-June.
-
Make a partial payment in spring, then finance the balance through a partner credit union.
-
Spread payments over 10–11 months with monthly drafts arranged through a tuition financing partner such as TDECU or Your Tuition Solution.
Families needing recurring payment arrangements can work directly with the Business Office to set up a plan and ask questions about billing and due dates.
