The Search Committee, led by Art Herrera '09, retained Peña Search Consulting to lead the recruitment process in identifying the next president of Bishop Dunne Catholic School. Over the past several months, the committee and Peña Consulting have worked to recruit and evaluate candidates for the position. The below information details this process up to the final round of interviews, which will be completed in the coming weeks:

Early Fall 2018: After meeting with representatives of the Bishop Dunne community (board of directors, leadership team, faculty, staff, and students), a search profile describing the role of the president and the responsibilities and requirements of the position was developed by Peña Search and approved by the search committee.

Mid-Late Fall 2018: Peña Consulting identified candidates in a nationwide search, contacting over 150 prospective candidates and sources of prospective candidates. This group of individuals was inclusive of presidents, headmasters, heads of schools, principals of Catholic diocesan high schools or independent Catholic schools, heads of Catholic educational leadership programs at major Catholic universities, heads or assistant heads of school at independent schools across the state of Texas, and civic and community leaders involved in Catholic education in Dallas.

December 2018: As a result of the nationwide search, Peña Consulting personally interviewed 16 candidates and presented nine for consideration to the search committee. From that group, the search committee selected five candidates to interview. This was a diverse group of candidates from across the country that included a president of a Catholic diocesan school, an assistant superintendent of Catholic Schools, an assistant head of school for a large independent school, an entrepreneur and business owner, and an executive at a national nonprofit organization. After the interviews, the search committee met and had thorough and thoughtful discussions about each candidate with regard to their viability as the potential president of Bishop Dunne.

January 2019: Two candidates have been invited to Bishop Dunne for a round of final interviews. This round of interviews will give the candidates an opportunity to spend time on campus with various members of the Bishop Dunne community. The final round of interviews will include meetings with Bishop Edward J. Burns, members of the school leadership team, the principal, faculty and staff, students, parents, and the board of directors.

We look forward to communicating another update at the conclusion of the final interviews.
