In recent weeks, parents Erikka Flood-Moultrie, Tish and Rusty Thompson, and Yesenia and Gabriel Casas, and alumni Jon and Celina Buchanan, opened their homes to other parents and alumni for BD100 parties. The hosts provided treats and drinks while our advancement team provided information about the importance of the dinner — it raises money for tuition assistance, making a BD education more affordable to families. So far, 80 Dunne parents and alumni have attended. Thank you to the hosts for their generosity and hospitality!
And, a special shout-out to Linda Barragan. Linda has been writing notes to donors, addressing invitations with her beautiful script, and in the last few days, calling every Bishop Dunne family to encourage them to support the dinner. She's a treasure. She's also really good. Her pleasant voice and enthusiasm for Bishop Dunne has persuaded several parents to sponsor a table, buy tickets or make a donation. Spinal Screenings - Nov. 7-8, 2019 State law requires that schools must screen students for abnormal spinal curvature in accordance with the following schedule:
Catching a spinal problem early can make the treatment much easier. Not treating spinal problems can lead to serious health problems. The screening is simple. We will look at your child's back while he or she stands and bends forward. Boys and girls will be screened separately, and one at a time.
Important Recommendations: Girls should wear a thin t-shirt or a sports bra or a two-piece swimsuit top underneath their shirt on exam day. If girls are wearing a sports bra or a two-piece swimsuit top underneath their shirt, it is recommended they remove their shirt for the screening. If you do not wish to have your child screened because they have been screened by their doctor, you must submit a letter from the doctor with the screening results to the school no later than November 6, 2019.
