Easter message from President Tom Maj Here at Bishop Dunne Catholic School where our founding principles emphasize real experience and a poetic education, it's particularly ironic that classes now meet in online discussions. But students and teachers have made the adjustment with grace and good will, despite the frustrations. Thanks are due to the whole community as we pray for an end to this pandemic.

Falcon Band releases Old Hundredth video Congratulations to the Bishop Dunne band on their achievement. The band recently released their video of the 'Old Hundredth' by Bourgeois, arranged by Cole. This piece is often set to the Doxology text for worship. The chorale was a proof of concept exercise that evolved over the first two weeks of online instruction. "I've done a little audio editing in the past, but this turned out to be a huge lesson for me," Mr. Harrelson shares. "In addition to learning how to edit the audio with a new program, I learned how to advise the kids on better ways to make recordings. Thankfully, we have SmartMusic, a program that has been most helpful in preparing the kids."

National Poetry Month National Poetry Month was inaugurated by the Academy of American Poets in April 1996. Over the years, it has become the largest literary celebration in the world with schools, publishers, libraries, booksellers, and poets celebrating poetry's vital place in our culture. Mrs. Gibson shares the following with you.
Most of us probably read "The Long Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" by T.S. Eliot in high school English, or perhaps college. I think it's one of the most taught poems of the 20th century. If you don't remember, here is the link.
You probably at least have heard the opening lines: "Let us go then, you and I,/When the evening is spread out against the sky/Like a patient etherized upon a table." Or this one near the end, "Do I dare to eat a peach?" Yep, Prufrock is notable for his ennui and indecision.
So revisit Eliot's classic, and then, just for fun, read the parody on McSweeney's, "The Covid-19 Song of J. Alfred Prufrock," linked here.
Be sure to see more ideas and cool resources from poets.org about ways to celebrate poetry. National Poem in Your Pocket Day (or in your classroom or in your inbox) will be April 30. If you are doing fun things with poetry, share them, please. https://poets.org/national-poetry-month.
