End of Year Information for the Class of 2021

Important information concerning the end-of-year activities for seniors. 
Senior Prom
  • April 16, 2021, Time TBA at Bishop Dunne Catholic School main field
  • Ticket prices: to be determined
  • Must have a negative PCR COVID-19 test. PCR test must be taken April 13 or 14. No rapid test allowed. 
  • No outside guests. Only Bishop Dunne students will be allowed to attend prom. 
  • Masks are required and must be worn at all times. 
  • Seniors will be dismissed from school at 11:30 a.m. after F block. Seniors that are in risk of failing will attend school until 3:30 p.m. Teachers of AP courses might require their students to attend class until 3:30 p.m.

Graduation Diplomas, Announcements/Invitations, Cap with tassel, Cords, Medals, Stoles and Gowns
  • It's time to order your cap and gown!  Your graduation fee includes the cost of your cap and gown.  Complete this form by Feb. 15, 2021. 
  • Diplomas: Early in September, during English class, students approved the name that will be on his/her diploma. The cost of the diploma is included in the senior graduation fee and Bishop Dunne has the diplomas. 
  • Caps with tassel and gown: Students will receive a survey in mid-February for cap and gown information which will request height and weight to ensure the correct size is ordered. Cost of cap, tassel, medals, honor roll stoles, and gown are included in the senior graduation fee and Bishop Dunne is placing the order for these items. 
  • Caps and gowns will be distributed the week of May 3. 
  • Announcements/invitations can be ordered beginning in mid-February. Orders can be placed online at www.balfour.com. Orders can be delivered to your home. 
Honors Convocation
  • May 10, 2:30 p.m. at Bishop Dunne Catholic School main field. It will be in the gym if weather is bad. 
  • Event will be recorded and sent out to the community on May 12. 
  • Only two guests per senior. The number of guests will be limited based on the COVID guidelines at the time of the event. An RSVP form will be sent to families requesting the names of their guests.
  • Seniors and their guests will be screened before they enter the stadium. COVID Health screening forms will be sent out Sunday afternoon, May 9. All seniors and their guests must submit a Health screening form before 10:00 a.m. on May 10.
  • Masks are required and must be worn at all times.
  • Those individuals that have traveled outside the metroplex within two weeks prior to the event will not be allowed to attend the event. 
  • Seniors will wear their cap and gown only. 
  • Seniors are to be dressed up (Sunday best). Please follow the dress up guidelines in the student handbook. 
  • Male students must be clean shaven or well groomed. No earrings.
  • Golden Falcons and college scholarships will be announced.
  • Please submit all college acceptances and scholarships to Mrs. Doan by Monday, April 26. Seniors are to meet with Ms. Doan concerning the scholarships to be announced at the Honors Convocation.
Graduation Celebration 
  • Graduation celebration for seniors May 26, 11:30 – 1:30 p.m on the main field. 
  • Complimentary senior lunch picnic with fun and games on the main field.
  • Seniors can meet with Ms. Doan one final time concerning college and scholarships to be announced at graduation.
  • Cords, medals, and stoles will be distributed after the graduation celebration.
Baccalaureate Mass
  • Baccalaureate Mass: Thursday, May 27, 2021, 4:00 p.m.
    • Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe in downtown Dallas at 2215 Ross Avenue, Dallas 75201. 
  • Only three guests per senior. The number of guests will be limited based on the COVID guidelines at the time of the event. An RSVP form will be sent to families requesting the names of their guests. 
  • Seniors and their guests will be assigned arrival times and must enter the Cathedral through the Crockett Street entrance and exit through the Pearl Street wooden doors. 
  • Seniors and their guests will be screened before they enter the Cathedral. COVID Health screening forms will be sent out Wednesday afternoon, May 26. All seniors and their guests must submit a Health screening form before 11:00 a.m. on May 27.
  • Those individuals that have traveled outside the metroplex within two weeks prior to the event will not be allowed to attend the event. 
  • Masks are required and must be worn at all times.
  • Graduates are reminded to wear their graduation gowns, cords, medals, and stoles only, no graduation cap.
  • Seniors are to be dressed up (Sunday best). Please follow the dress up guidelines in the student handbook. 
  • Male students must be clean shaven or well groomed. No earrings.
  • Cathedral parking is located right next to the Cathedral at Hall’s Arts Garage, and entrances are located on Pearl Street and Crockett Street.
  • The Bishop Dunne Alumni Association has sponsored a gift for the Seniors that will be handed out at the end of Mass. 
Graduation
  • Friday, May 28, 2020, 6:30 p.m.
  • Concord Church, 6808 Pastor Bailey, Dallas, TX, 75237
  • Four guests per senior. The number of guests will be limited based on the COVID guidelines at the time of the event. An RSVP form will be sent to families requesting the names of their guests.
  • Seniors and their guests will be screened before they enter the Church. COVID Health screening forms will be sent out Thursday afternoon, May 27. All seniors and their guests must submit a Health screening form before noon on May 28.
  • Those individuals that have traveled outside the metroplex within two weeks prior to the event will not be allowed to attend the event. 
  • Masks are required and must be worn at all times.
  • Graduation is at 6:30 p.m. Seniors and their guests will be assigned arrival times and must enter the front doors. 
  • Event will be streamed live.
  • Seniors are to be dressed up (Sunday best). Please follow the dress up guidelines in the student handbook.
  • Male students must be clean shaven or well groomed. No earrings.
  • Parking is free.
  • Reminder: All accounts with BDCS must be paid in full before a student receives a diploma and final transcript will be released.
Tickets to Graduation and Baccalaureate Mass
  • A guest list must be submitted before the events through the provided digital form. Baccalaureate and Graduation guest lists are due Monday, May 17. 
  • A COVID-19 Screening Form must be completed 24 hours prior to each event.
  • Physical tickets will not be provided – guest will be admitted based on the RSVP list provided by each graduate.
Pictures: Honors Convocation, Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation
  • The official photographer for the Honors Convocation, Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation is yet to be determined. Pictures of Honors Convocation, Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation will be available for purchase or downloading beginning June 4, 2021.
Microsoft Office Accounts
  • Your school Microsoft Office Account will be deleted June 15. Make sure you back up any important information you will need. 
School Uniforms
  • School uniforms can be donated to Ms. Owens in the bookstore and seniors will be able to wear spirit dress or a college t-shirt on Wednesday and Thursday, May 19 and 20.  
Senior Pictures / Portraits 
  • To schedule an appointment, go to www.prestigedfw.com or call 972-669-9200. Please note there might be a sitting fee. Tuxes, drapes, graduation cap and gown will be provided for your session. School dress code will apply to your session. Please check that your hair length, facial hair, piercings, etc. comply with the school dress code.
  • If you would like to have additional portraits with other outfits and backgrounds, please call to make an appointment at one of their studios in the DFW area.
