Part-Time Head Coach - Women's Basketball
Part-Time Head Coach - Women's Basketball
Bishop Dunne Catholic School is seeking a Part-Time Head Boys Basketball Coach. The Head Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for leading and directing all aspects of the basketball program in a manner consistent with the school's Catholic mission, college preparatory focus, and commitment to forming servant leaders. The coach will build a competitive program within the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) while prioritizing faith formation, academic accountability, and character development.

Responsibilities include:
· Collaborate with faculty and administration to support whole-student formation
· Model Catholic values and uphold the teachings of the Church
· Support campus ministry initiatives (Mass, retreats, service opportunities)
Primary Responsibilities
Program Leadership
· Lead and oversee all levels of the Bishop Dunne boys basketball program (Varsity, JV, Freshman, and Middle School)
· Develop a year-round program emphasizing skill development, strength and conditioning, and basketball IQ
· Establish a clear program identity aligned with Bishop Dunne values and TAPPS competition standards
· Prepare teams for successful participation in TAPPS district, bi-district, and playoff competition
Student-Athlete Development
· Promote academic accountability in alignment with Bishop Dunne standards
· Mentor student-athletes in leadership, discipline, and Christian character
· Foster spiritual development through team prayer, reflection, and service
· Support college recruitment and exposure opportunities where appropriate
Coaching Staff Management
· Hire, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaches
· Ensure alignment across all program levels in philosophy and expectations
· Promote professional development among coaching staff
TAPPS Compliance & Operations
· Ensure full compliance with all TAPPS rules, eligibility requirements, and bylaws
· Coordinate scheduling, travel, and game operations in collaboration with the Athletic Department
· Maintain accurate records for eligibility, rosters, and required reporting
· Represent Bishop Dunne professionally at TAPPS meetings and events
Program Administration
· Manage equipment, uniforms, and facilities responsibly
· Oversee program budget in coordination with the Athletic Director
· Organize offseason development (camps, leagues, strength programs)
· Assist with program fundraising and community engagement initiatives
Communication & Community Engagement
· Maintain clear, consistent communication with players, parents, and administration
· Promote the program positively within the Bishop Dunne and Dallas community
· Support school-wide events, admissions efforts, and athletic promotion
Health, Safety & Compliance
· Prioritize athlete safety and well-being at all times
· Ensure proper training techniques and injury prevention protocols
· Maintain required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Safe Environment training)
Work Environment & Expectations
· Availability for evenings, weekends, and travel during season
· Year-round engagement including offseason development and program planning
· Active presence in the Bishop Dunne school community
Position Requirements
· Prior high school or higher-level coaching experience (head coaching preferred)
· Strong knowledge of basketball strategy, player development, and program building
· Familiarity with or willingness to learn TAPPS regulations and competition structure
· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
· Commitment to Catholic education and student formation
Preferred Qualifications
· Teaching certification or ability to join Bishop Dunne faculty
· Experience in a Catholic or faith-based school environment
· Proven success in building a competitive, values-based program
· Experience with offseason development systems (strength training, AAU coordination, etc.)

School Nurse
School Nurse
As the only diocesan Catholic school serving students in grades six through twelve, Bishop Dunne is proud to reflect the rich diversity of Dallas. More than 75% of our students identify as students of color, and approximately half are Catholic.
We are currently seeking a full-time School Nurse to support the health and wellness of our students and campus community. This role is responsible for maintaining the school health program in accordance with professional nursing standards, Diocese of Dallas policies and procedures, and the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
The ideal candidate is a dedicated healthcare professional who understands the unique demands and rewards of providing care in a school setting and is committed to serving a diverse and vibrant student population.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain student health records (electronic and paper) in compliance with Diocese and state requirements
- Ensure immunization records are current per Texas law
- Document all student clinic visits and maintain accurate logs
- Manage medication administration in accordance with state law and school policy
- Order and maintain clinic supplies
- Provide care to ill or injured students and determine appropriate next steps
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns
- Refer families to community health resources (clinics, hospitals, Medicaid/CHIP, etc.)
- Support student wellness through health education initiatives
- Provide annual bloodborne pathogen training
- Coordinate infection control procedures
- Maintain certifications and compliance documentation
- Certify/recertify staff in CPR/AED
- Maintain required certifications (vision/hearing screening, scoliosis, etc.)
- Collaborate with staff, families, and community partners
- Serve as liaison to the Diocesan Nurse and attend required meetings/trainings
- Assist with crisis management planning
- Maintain first aid kits across campus and school buses
- Conduct monthly AED checks
- Model professionalism, ethics, and responsibility
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Adhere to Diocese and school policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional healthcare experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BS or BSN) from an accredited university
- Current Texas RN license and pediatric experience preferred
- Certifications (Current or Willing to Obtain)
- CPR/BLS Instructor Certification
- Texas Hearing & Vision Certification
- Texas Scoliosis Certification
- Acanthosis Nigricans Screening Certification (University of Texas Border Health Office)
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with the Diocese of Dallas Safe Environment Program.
