The GeoTech Conference was established in 1987 and features a keynote speaker of renown who is an explorer, environmentalist, conservationist, scientist, author, or all of these. Previous keynote speakers include Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, Dr. Jane Goodall, and Dr. Robert Ballard.
The conference continues for three days at the end of February or beginning of March and includes intensive GIS (Geographic Information Systems) training for teachers, workshops in all disciplines, and guided field trips to educational centers. The conference is open to the public and to students.
