Students will spend 180 days on campus next year. We invite you to make a one-time gift of $180--individually or collectively with your family or classmates. Each gift of $1 per school day will go toward the formational and academic programs we plan to offer our students next year.

Together, the possibilities are endless. Please make a $180 gift today. Thank you, Falcons!

Meet Mariah Moreno ’25, the 26th Moreno Falcon Graduate!

Mariah Moreno ’25 received two Golden Falcon awards at the Convocation Awards ceremony last week—one for art and the other for theology. She is a regular volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul’s food pantry where she puts her faith into action and was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for her service. Her incredible talent and hard work earned her $42,000 in scholarships for arts and academics, and an offer to the prestigious Savannah College of Art and Design.

Mariah loved art at an early age. When she was a young girl, she would paint on the walls at home. To encourage her artistic expression while protecting the walls, her mother, Brenda Moreno, bought her canvases. Mariah immersed herself in drawing and watched professional drawing videos on YouTube to fine-tune her craft.

Creativity runs in her family. Mariah’s Grandma Rachel (Moreno) ’77 is a talented seamstress and patternmaker, who inspired Mariah to take up sewing. With her grandmother’s help, she redesigned her own Homecoming and prom dresses. She also can be found assisting her mom, an interior designer, with furnishing and decorating vacation homes.

When Mariah entered Bishop Dunne as a freshman, she quickly got involved in art and drama, becoming part of a tightknit group of creatives at the school. Her first mentor and friend at Dunne was guidance counselor Mr. Damian McDonald, who helped her acclimate to the rigorous academics. He has been a big supporter of her art, attending many of her theater performances and hanging some of her artwork in his office. Mariah has performed in the Book of Will, the 2023 Bishop Dunne Revue, the 2024 Bishop Dunne Revue-Tenth Anniversary, and Macbeth. She was awarded the Outstanding Senior Award in theater. A consummate thespian, she not only performs onstage, but also assists with costume design and props.

Mariah’s dream is to earn a business degree and continue to express her artistic talent in tattoo graphics and theater arts. A number of her family members are entrepreneurs, so Mariah has a built-in support system of talented family members to provide guidance.

Besides sketching and digital media, Mariah also enjoys studying Greek and German, art, theology, and theater. She is the epitome of a Renaissance woman.

Mariah is proud of her family history at Dunne. Her Grandma Rachel and Grandpa Luis (Moreno) ’77 met at school. Her grandpa recently passed, but she loves their story of being together since high school. She said it is extra special to be at the same school where her grandparents met, and that her time at Dunne has been amazing.

The future is bright for entrepreneur, artist, and star performer Mariah Moreno!

She gives a lot of credit to her dad, David Moreno ’07, who helped her through some challenging times. Her family is very tight and supportive, she said. She has two brothers, Jacob (10) and AJ (8) who currently attend St. Elizabeth’s and plan to attend Bishop Dunne. She said she is excited for them to experience Dunne because the teachers are “super helpful.”

Besides sketching and digital media, Mariah also enjoys studying Greek and German, art, theology, and theater. She is the epitome of a Renaissance woman.

The Falcon Fund

The Falcon Fund is the cornerstone of all fundraising efforts at Bishop Dunne. It fuels the formational program Bishop Dunne offers to ignite purpose and unlock potential in each student. Falcon Fund Overview

How Bishop Dunne Meets Expenses

Tuition revenue does not cover the full cost of educating our students. Nearly 70% of Bishop Dunne’s operating budget is funded by tuition, fees, and other income. The remainder is covered by our Falcon community and other generous philanthropists who believe in the transformative power of education and Bishop Dunne’s commitment to the formation of the entire child.

The Falcon Fund is where our community can make donations to fill the gap. Based on this year’s budget, the cost to educate a Bishop Dunne high school student is $22,900 while the actual tuition charged is $17,600, a difference of $5,300. Our community is invited to give at whatever level their budget or broader giving plan allows. The Falcon Fund accepts gifts throughout its fiscal year, beginning July 1 and ending June 30. Gifts are tax-deductible based on IRS guidelines.

Thank you for making a gift to The Falcon Fund. Your generous support provides Bishop Dunne with the funding required to provide a premier, formational education to middle and high school students in Dallas. Transformation starts here at Bishop Dunne.
