Spring is here and our school and fiscal year are wrapping up. Just as flowers are blooming, so are plans for our 2025-2026 school year!
Students will spend 180 days on campus next year. We invite you to make a one-time gift of $180--individually or collectively with your family or classmates. Each gift of $1 per school day will go toward the formational and academic programs we plan to offer our students next year.
Together, the possibilities are endless. Please make a $180 gift today. Thank you, Falcons!
Your gift supports programs like the Collegiate Institute.
The Collegiate Institute offers students a free associate degree on campus. Thanks to generous donors who support this program, currently, 25% of our students graduate with an associate degree.
The future is bright for Olivia Dugger '21, the new associate technical consultant at Esri--the top, global GIS software and mapping company.
“I am incredibly grateful to Bishop Dunne for introducing me to GIS, a field that has shaped my academic and professional journey. I cannot wait to build upon these experiences and continue leveraging GIS technology to effect positive change,” Olivia said.
Esri is the global market leader in geographic information system (GIS) software and mapping. They serve 680,000 clients, including 90% of Fortune 100 companies, most national and local governments, and 12,000 universities. They deal with some of the world’s greatest challenges, like climate change and social and economic inequality. Impressed?
This science-based powerhouse just hired a new associate technical consultant to their 6,000-strong, global team—Olivia Dugger ’21! Olivia will graduate from TCU as an Honors Laureate next month triple majoring in geography, digital culture and data analytics, and Italian. And now, she has her dream job!
Valedictorian Olivia Dugger '21 gives an inspiring speech at graduation.
Before beginning her new job, Olivia plans to take a celebratory graduation trip through Germany, France, Switzerland, and Italy.
Her foray into GIS began in an AP Human Geography class led by 26-year veteran, Falcon instructor, Brad Baker. He challenged Olivia and her classmates to map densely populated areas in Puerto Rico for the Red Cross to use in providing disaster relief following Hurricane Maria. That class ignited purpose in Olivia, to help create sustainable solutions for struggling populations through GIS mapping.
Each year, she presented her work at Bishop Dunne’s annual Geotech conference, gaining valuable experience. She collaborated with the North Texas Food Bank to map local schools with food insecurity issues. She mapped neighborhoods around the planned park site over I-35 in collaboration with the Southern Gateway Deck Park project leaders. Her efforts contributed to raising more than $1 million for this project. The possibilities to use her new-found skills for good were endless.
She credits Bishop Dunne with helping her develop her critical thinking, communication and technical skills, and providing her with real-world, project opportunities. During high school, she earned 52 college credits that allowed her to triple major and earn meaningful and highly competitive scholarships and internships.
The future is bright for Olivia. She is one of many talented Falcon alumni who are using their talent for good. We can't wait to hear more about Olivia's work and the impact she is making in people's lives!
The Falcon Fund
The Falcon Fund is the cornerstone of all fundraising efforts at Bishop Dunne. It fuels the formational program Bishop Dunne offers to ignite purpose and unlock potential in each student. It provides cutting-edge technology and innovative learning tools, quality educators, and extracurricular activities that empower students to become the future leaders of our community.
Falcon Fund Overview
How Bishop Dunne Meets Expenses
Tuition revenue does not cover the full cost of educating our students. Nearly 70% of Bishop Dunne’s operating budget is funded by tuition, fees, and other income. The remainder is covered by our Falcon community and other generous philanthropists who believe in the transformative power of education and Bishop Dunne’s commitment to the formation of the entire child.
The Falcon Fund is where our community can make donations to fill the gap. Based on this year’s budget, the cost to educate a Bishop Dunne high school student is $22,900 while the actual tuition charged is $17,600, a difference of $5,300. Our community is invited to give at whatever level their budget or broader giving plan allows. The Falcon Fund accepts gifts throughout its fiscal year, beginning July 1 and ending June 30. Gifts are tax-deductible based on IRS guidelines.
Thank you for making a gift to The Falcon Fund. Your generous support provides Bishop Dunne with the funding required to provide a premier, formational education to middle and high school students in Dallas. Transformation starts here at Bishop Dunne.
