Faith Formation

At Bishop Dunne, faith is more than a subject—it’s a way of life. Campus Ministry invites students, faculty, and families to encounter Christ and grow together on the journey toward holiness. Rooted in our Catholic identity and open to all faith backgrounds, our ministry embodies truth, love, and mercy in the spirit of Jesus Christ.

A Community of Worship and Service

The Eucharist stands at the heart of our life together. We celebrate Mass weekly as a school, with alternating grade levels (6–9 and 10–12) attending bi-weekly. Students play an active role as altar servers, lectors, musicians, ushers, and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion—participating fully in the sacred mystery of the Mass.

Each school day begins in prayer, guided by a daily meditation and monthly spiritual focus. These reflections challenge and inspire our community to live out the Gospel through faith and action.

Retreats and Faith Experiences

Every student at Bishop Dunne participates in an annual spiritual retreat—an opportunity to pause, reflect, and grow closer to God and one another. Each retreat is tailored to the student’s stage of life, combining meaningful prayer, discussion, and activities. Junior and Senior retreats serve as milestone experiences, including the beloved Junior Ring Mass and the Senior Kairos Retreat, powerful moments of community and faith.

Throughout the year, we gather as one school for special prayer services in Thanksgiving, Advent, and Lent—times to center our hearts on worship and gratitude.

Forming Faith Leaders

Upper school students can take part in Peer Ministry, a leadership course for juniors and seniors who wish to deepen their spiritual formation and serve as witnesses to their peers. Peer Ministers help organize liturgies, support retreats, and mentor younger students in their faith journey.

Faith Beyond the Classroom

Each February, our students join thousands of young Catholics at the Dallas Catholic Youth Conference, a weekend filled with worship, community, and renewal. During Lent, our school enters into this sacred season together through penance services, fasting, almsgiving, and prayer—including weekly Stations of the Cross and participation in the Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl program.

Every three years, Campus Ministry leads an international pilgrimage, inviting high school students to walk in the footsteps of the saints and experience the living history of our Catholic faith.

Through worship, service, and fellowship, Campus Ministry helps every member of the Bishop Dunne community become who God is calling them to be.
